THE BASS KEEP COMING!
Well The September Bass fishing is fantastic as I expected after the brilliant season we have been having,
Some days last week we was boating 80+ bass from 1lb to 8.6lb
90% of the bass are coming on worm baits and a few on the drift on lures on the right tides.
Please bring worm through September if you want the bass its a must !!!
I Have to put some miles in for the bigger hauls of bass but its well worth it!!
Local regular marks still throwing up plenty of bass to 5lb hounds to 12lb and skate to 9lb so it still pretty good around but i am concentrating on the bass during september until they go. I suspect they will be here well in to October as the water temp is still 18c
Once the bass move off for winter it will be a bit of skate fishing until the Cod show if they do that is!!
oh and by the way The whiting are already moving inn in numbers so things will start to change but the positive of this is big bass love a live whiting bait
Call 07523488290 for October dates
July has been a busy month aboard Dawn Tide II so far good weather and superb fishing !!
Start of july the mackerel finally turn up in numbers
this means we are able to go on the hunt for some bigger fish
Mackerel is one if the best baits in my opinion there isn’t much out there that wont take a live bait or fresh mackerel chunk / strip.
Last few weeks we have been live baiting mackerel and with great success! with bass to 10lb several around 7-5lb even the smaller bass around 2lb fish have been taking a live mackerel or a fresh chunk,
The Tope and skate also taking the mackerel baits as expected in the deeper water on the neap tides
The worm and crab working well in the shallows on the bigger tides for the hounds and school bass also been some sole coming out regular if you use the smaller hooks
this week the hound fishing has been very good its bit weedy but fish to 15lb with average stamp of 7-9lb giving a good scrap
Went offshore done a couple of tope trips last week biggest was 41lb lost a couple others during the fight can't be helped had few smaller ones aswell but that was by far the biggest.
There are has been massive shouls of small bass and mackerel close to home this has been a good stop on the way out or the way home and good fun around slack tides.
A reminder Always bring crab or worm this time of year for bass and hounds as you never know them mackerel can disappear over night thats the way it is!
Sorry to everyone one who been trying to get in touch last few weeks i dont have any signal whilst im at sea and a young family i need to spend time with once i get home before they go to bed, Im slowly getting through my voicemails and texts and emails i will get back to you all I promise,
heads up its time to get the september bass trips booked in this is one of the best times of year for bass fishing have to put some miles in but its well worth it,
Always best to call or text as i dont check social media enough not a big fan of Facebook anyway best to just call me
Thanks everyone hope to see you all soon
Next report in a few weeks time
BASS BASS BASS !!!
As you can see from the pictures that back up my report the bass fishing is the best i have seen in a few years. The average fish was between 3-5lb a good eating size bass some days we where boating over 200 bass a trip i can't picture them all lol
The worm baits are catching plenty always bring worm if you want to catch bass no worm will = no bass.
The lure action has been good most days we work the lures over slack tides as the fish are often mid water some times busting out the surface after the white bait.
This week just passed we saw a massive influx of smaller fish great fun on the lures and good for the future but you will have to fish through them for the keepers but remember it 42cm minimum size limmit and only 2 fish per anger per 24 hours you have been told lol,
The mackerel are still yet turn up in force had a few here and there but not in any numbers we need them for the tope as there are a few about now i will try once the bass fishing slows up i have been a bit side tracked,
The hound fishing is good a lot of the bigger females are inshore not far to travel at all but the trouble is the weed when targeting the big hounds but if you can handle the weed you will get some big hounds.
The skate are off in the deep water fish baits working well for those that want them
i normally like to use the fresh mackerel for the skate Big bass and Tope this time of year just need them to show up.
I'm going to try and put a few offshore plaice and wreck trips together soon so keep an eye out for spaces.
At the moment I'm sticking to current guidelines no more than 6 to be onboard per trip keeping the 2 meter rule, no one to enter the wheelhouse but the skipper, bring and use your own PPE and sanitiser, no tea and coffee provided to avoid cross contamination please bring a flask, clean everything after use and don't touch other peoples equipment and goes without saying any symptoms please follow goverment guidlines stay at home.
obviously due to number restricted onboard the per head price will be more I'm sure you all understand why but the way the fishing is its well worth it i think and it won't belong until we are back to normal
look forward to see you all aboard this season stay safe

UPDATE !!! TRIPS ARE BACK ON !!!!
From june the 1st 2020 government restorations are being easied allowing me to some sort of operation.
basically i can have 5 anglers onboard plus me if you are from the same house hold you class as one unit so could possibly have more than 5 on one trip. As far as costing the individual cost will be a bit more for obvious reasons but it will be worth it plenty of space plenty of fish and keeping safe.
There will be a few changes onboard to suit the Covid 19 situation and to keep you and me as safe a possible.
No hot drinks will be provided to avoid cross contamination feel free to bring a flask,
No one is to enter the wheel house at any time whilst onboard only me keeping me and you safe,
Whilst onboard maintain 2 meters at all times from everyone onboard,
Do not touch other peoples belonging or equipment stick to your own,
Please bring personal PPE equipment if you can and use it along with wipes and sanitiser,
Regular cleaning of boat and equipment throughout the day,
If you need to use the onboard toilet you will have to clean it after use to avoid and cross contamination,
Please respect other peoples personal space we all want to have a safe enjoyable experience,
being at sea in my view is a safe environment plenty of outdoor fresh sea air a lot safer than them crowded supermarkets and parks are anyway,
If you are showing symptoms you should let me know strait way, do not come aboard you must follow government guidelines.
The bit i have to say is "You accept that contracting COVID 19 is a real risk and that the skipper/owner will not be held responsible if you contract the virus you accept this by stepping onboard and do so at your own risk"
Not that any one can prove where they caught it but i have to make it clear and protect my self at all times.
Also whilst in the marina please respect the other boat owners keep your distance and don't touch other people things some are self isolating on site.
Back to the fun bit the fishing
We are at the peak of the season now and the fishing is on fire loads of Bass out there had several around 5lb this week and very good numbers too on the lures. The Hounds are good sport biggest so far for me this year is 19lb so lets see who can beat me. Still loads Skate/Rays in the deep water if you want them, Been reports of big Tope this week 50lb I'm doing a few trips for them next week so keep a look out also the mackerel should be here too. Its good all round at the moment got a few wrecking and plaice trips next month will report then, The inshore fishing in the crouch has been the best seen in a while here high numbers of skate bass and hounds throughout the river even the shore anglers are having it off. so even on them windy days we can still get on the fish and get afloat. Its finally time to get out and enjoy that weather and fantastic fishing that we have been waiting for. iv got day trips, evening trips, bass trips tope trips night trips and 24hour trips coming up going to hopefully be a busy one.
Hi everyone hope you are all well
Just a quick update the charter industry is still battling with operating restrictions and no finical buisness support,
On a positive since boating and fishing is allowed during semi lockdown i decided to nip out a few times with my family.
fishings good had plenty good size bass, hounds and skate about il let the pictures do the talking.
The weekend just gone was my twins 5th birthday took them on a family lockdown fishing trip it was really good sport for them non stop smallish skate and hounds inshore, keeping them busy just what we all needed a day out on the water great memories who knows they may become skippers one day.
please keep and eye out for when lockdown gets lifted and get booked on asap as my diary is all over the place with 3 months of trips being shifted about so please bare with me il do my best to get everyone afloat hopefully not to long now!!
hope to see you all soon Stay safe everyone
As you can guess All trips will be cancelled for 3 weeks maybe more pending government sanctions and peoples lifes !!
Lets do the right thing and STAY AT HOME
The quicker we beat this the quicker we can get back at sea enjoying what our waters have to offer and getting back to normal
When the Corona Virus finally exhausts itself and the danger is over, let's do something good for our country,
Let's spend our holidays in England, eat in local restaurants, buy British products, buy local meats and veggies and support local businesses what ever they are. These businesses are going to find it very difficult to get back on their feet and survive without our help. They're suffering badly now and i am one of those along with many others.
Our products and services are some of the best in the world. Our country is one of the most beautiful.
on a positive note by the time we all get back out afloat the fishing it will be amazing with the hounds tope skate bass rays mackerel and more well and truly here with the fine weather it will be fantastic.
while all this is going on and we are on lock down protecting the NHS and helping to save life's i get to spend some well needed quality time with my family and keep them safe
take care and stay safe everyone see you all soon
Due to the covid 19 situation i have taken the hard decision not to take on any NEW bookings until things settle down
I will try to adapt daily with the government sanctions please read my previous posts
It is going to be a very tough time and it will hurt alot of people in many ways i wish everyone the best stay safe and i will hopefully see you all when this is over not to long i hope
Regarding bookings people already have please read my previous posts or call me on 07523488290
On a positive them fish will be getting hungry
Fishing and Covid 19 onboard Dawn Tide II
We all know whats going on with the country at the moment horrible times!!
I’m trying to do my bit whilst still trying to earn a living for my young family from full time chartering us charter skippers won't qualify for financial help.
I have contacted a hygiene company and asked for 2 hand sanitisers to be installed on the boat 1 for the deck and one for the wheelhouse asap. I will ask that you bring your own cup or flask for hot drinks and i ask that whilst onboard please wear disposible gloves whilst keeping a respnsible distance between each other.
The boat and equipment is completely washed down and thoroughly cleaned after every trip so no excuses for poor hygiene onboard.
Im also asking groups that have trips booked too try to keep numbers to a minimum to maximise personal space theres loads of space onboard anyway but it all helps
i will also be doing this on individual walk on dates so we have a safe environment.
If you or a family member are showing any symptoms i ask you to please follow government guidelines.
If we all follow the above we should be able to continue throughout the season safley and enjoy the fantastic fishing and weather coming up.
it will be a tough time for the angling industry many charter boats tackle shops and bait suppliers will find it hard to continue through this along with the fishing industry and rest of the country so lets all do our bit to help each other get through this.
I honestly think that a day afloat with the sea air and sun shine fishing away from life’s stresses the mainstream media and the uk population is one of the best relaxing mind clearing safest places to be at the moment miles away form it all literally
hope to see you all aboard soon stay safe every one
Any enquires as im still operating call me on 07523488290
And lets find them big fish !!!!
FISHING REPORT 19/3/20
Had the first few hounds of the 2020 season this week only small but a start of things to come bass will be there too if the hounds are!!!!
loads of Rays as usual for the time of year keeps everyone on the toes and the rods bending you don't have to wait long seeing 30-50 most trips and its increasing all the time herring bait doing the job.
if you want them bass and hounds that are down there now its no good using herring you will need to bring/order crab or worm trust me its worth it
had something i haven't seen in a while a whiting with a lamprey hitching a ride
any way things are vastly improving out there all the species a rocking up for the season can't wait call 07523488290
The fishing is improving all the time now unlike the weather wind wind wind !!
On most trips in march we are seeing Between 30-50 skate boated even when the winds blowing and we are stuck inshore we still getting around 30+ rays but getting offshore is much busier and better.
last trip all the guys put £5 each in for the biggest fish and the winner was regular angler derek marsh with a 12.6lb thornback ray netting him £40 pot that meant his day afloat only cost him £20 so worth a go and gets the banter going keeps you on the ball
The 1st of bass and hounds started to show around the next week last year so with the warm water for the time of year and peeler crabs starting now you should start seeing them any time now in-between the rays.
walk on spaces coming up in march are
see my home page for more availability on whole boats and spaces throughout the season or simply call me on 07523488290 and i can go through my diary with you i always do my best to get everyone aboard see you all soon
Start of march
Headed out fishing after going back afloat on the 26/2/20
we had to fish inshore on the 27/2/20 due to strong winds but never the less was the inshore fishing was fantastic with over 40+ rays boated to 12lb
The ray numbers will rocket over the next 5-6 weeks so enjoy it while its here!
last season the Hounds and Bass arrived end of march so not long at all!!! the water temp is 7.5c at the moment so i personally think its all going to happen early the is season if the inshore fishing is this busy the offshore fishing should be very very busy nows time to start getting back out after a long winter its only going to get better and better now
next walk on spaces coming up are
4th 6th 10th 12th march
keep an eye on my Facebook for live video streams and updates but i will update this site at the end of every week
